Upon returning The Invisible Edge will officially kick off "Beach Bums Month" in which every post in June is a "Beach Bums" post. Why? For one, it's gimmicky and cheap gimmickry is exalted here at the Edge. Two, I have more of those weird, inexplicable beach photos than you can possibly imagine. In fact, if you had a stick and I laid out all the beach photos in front of you and you then started shaking the stick at them, it would easily exceed the stick's load capacity for shaking. And, I have just uploaded dozens more so...

So the two of you must be wondering, "What's going on at the Edge? It's been over a week and nothing. Nothing!" Well, here's the deal. I'm working on a short film right now that relies heavily on old public domain photos so I'm searching for photos for that right now instead of photos for this. I'll still update here in the coming weeks while I'm making the movie but on the order of once a week, with occasional stretches of two weeks in there. Once the movie's done it's back to browsing through photo archives for The Invisible Edge. Thanks for listening, both of you.

On June 30, 1955,Patricia Moore, center, is comforted by her daughter, Toni Davis, and son, Telford Moore, jr, as she awaits the verdict in her final trial for the slaying of her husband, Dr. Telford Moore in 1952.

It is in 1952 when Patricia Moore files for divorce no longer able to bear her husbands beatings and affairs. A policeman friend gives her a revolver for her protection and on May 10, 1952, Dr. Moore breaks into the house, chases Mrs. Moore, throws her down and begins to beat her. She pulls the revolver out of her pocket and shoots him twice.

After the first two murder trials produce hung juries the state reduces the charge to manslaughter and a third trial is initiated. On July 8, 1955, the State of California finally drops all charges against Mrs. Moore and she is free to go.
